David Moyes was dealt an injury blow during Sunday night’s victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers when one of his defenders was forced off through injury.
The Hammers lost right back Ryan Fredericks to injury early in the second half of the 4-0 thumping at London Stadium. West Ham have yet to confirm the extent of Fredericks’ problem but football.london understands it is a muscular problem.
Reports have claimed that Fredericks has injured his hamstring and that he could be out for between four to six weeks after picking up the issue at the weekend.
If confirmed, it will be the second hamstring injury that Fredericks has suffered this year, also sustaining the problem against Gillingham in the FA Cup back in January which ruled him out up to lockdown.
Hammers skipper Mark Noble made a return from a toe injury off the bench against Wolves, getting a few minutes as a substitute.
Jack Wilshere is also back to full fitness having played 90 minutes against Hull City last week but wasn’t named in the matchday squad for the victory over Nuno Espitiro Santo’s men.
The other two absentees who are definitely out of the Carabao Cup last 16 tie with Everton in midweek are Josh Cullen and Issa Diop, who will still be self-isolating after testing positive for Covid-19 along with manager David Moyes.
There were no other reported injury problems to emerge from the victory on Sunday night as the Hammers’ treatment room remains relatively quiet, as it has done for most of the season so far.
