Freddie Woodman move to Bournemouth stopped at last minute over Newcastle keeper concerns

Freddie Woodman saw a loan move to AFC Bournemouth halted at the 11th hour.

Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka has suffered a foot injury and could need an operation.

He was always going to miss part of pre-season due to his participation in Euro 2020 with Slovakia.

Now it remains to be seen whether he will be fit for the start of the season.

However, Woodman - who initially started pre-season with Newcastle last week - has not been pictured in training.

He posted an Instagram post from Croydon yesterday and was not involved in training with his parent club.

This came after he’d had a medical with the Cherries and was scheduled to travel with them on pre-season in Marbella.

But that move was halted, and Newcastle sources are now suggesting the situation has been resolved and Woodman will now play part of the friendly game at York.
