Freddie Starr is to be buried by his beloved mum in Liverpool.
His estranged family have decided to fly his body from Spain, ending fears the penniless comic would end up in a pauper’s grave on the Costa del Sol.
He will be laid to rest alongside Hilda at the family plot in the city’s Huyton area.
Freddie died aged 76 on Thursday after a heart attack at his one-bed Mijas home.
A source told the Mirror: “Freddie adored his mum. She was the driving force behind his career by encouraging him to do gigs in pubs and clubs.”

The source added: “Though estranged from his children and former wives, they felt it was only right he was reunited with his mum.” Hilda, Jewish and originally from Germany, brought him up after his violent dad Richard died.
Freddie’s third wife Donna Such, 48, said “We’re all doing our bit.” It had been unclear if his family, including six children and four wives, would fund his repatriation, costing up to £5,000.

Freddie’s carer Nelly Georgieva, 46, earlier said he’d have wanted to stay in Spain thinking “the British had deserted him”.
Freddie, on tour below, earned millions in the 70s and 80s.
But last night his sister Brenda Hughes, 79, claimed Operation Yewtree, the police probe into historical sex abuse, left him “devastated”, adding: “I don’t think he properly recovered.”
He became a recluse with huge debts after a failed libel case.
