Freddie Ljungberg has thanked the Arsenal fans for the support he and his players were given as the former Arsenal star took charge of the Gunners for the first time as interim head coach.
The Swede became the interim head coach this week at Arsenal , following the sacking of Unai Emery, which was confirmed on Friday morning after a 2-1 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League on Thursday night.
The Gunners were not able to win in Ljungberg's first game in his new role, despite two goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as Arsenal drew 2-2 with Norwich City at Carrow Road.
But Ljungberg insisted after the game that there were plenty of positives for the Gunners, as he stated that he feels a top four finish is "100 per cent still achievable" for Arsenal this season, despite being seven points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.
And the 42-year-old has sent a message to the Gunners fans following the game.
“That was a very proud moment for me today to lead out this special club," he said, in a video posted on social media by Arsenal's official club account.
“At the same time, I was extremely disappointed that we didn’t win the game.
“But I just want to say thank you very much for that amazing support for myself and the players.
“When we went down, you were louder than before and that shows how much you love this club, and I want to say thank you very much.”
