Freddie Kitchens as a rookie head coach is often listed as one of the big questions surrounding the 2019 Cleveland Browns. He’s never been a head coach at any level of football before taking on a loaded Browns roster with high expectations and a regrettably long history of failure.
The skeptics be damned, according to one sportsbook. Bovada has Kitchens installed as the odds-on favorite to win the NFL Coach of the Year honor in his first year. Kitchens currently sits at +650 to capture the honor. No other candidate is below +1100.
Some of this is obviously the bookmakers chasing the fan money, and the Browns fans are oozing out of the woodwork everywhere. But it also reflects a confidence in Kitchens being the right man for the job in Cleveland.
