Freddie Kitchens gets testy with a barrage of questions about Odell Beckham Jr.

Freddie Kitchens met with the media on Wednesday, and the press conference Q&A turned into a de facto inquisition on Odell Beckham Jr.

Kitchens fielded 10 questions about Beckham in the presser, including a string of eight questions in a row. Most of them were related and essentially the same basic theme being rephrased.

“What is going on with Beckham?”

Kitchens appeared increasingly testy and frustrated with the barrage of repetitive questions he clearly didn’t want to answer. The most elaborate answer came with the first one, asking why the high-profile wideout isn’t getting the ball more.

“Why isn’t he getting targeted more? We have plays, we have reads to go through, coverage dictates that and there are several reasons,” Kitchens responded. “I think we threw the ball 24 times the other night and he was targeted six times. I do not know what the magic number is – I do not know what you guys are looking for.”

The topic did change briefly for a couple of questions, but then circled back to Beckham. Kitchens did confirm he elected to let Beckham return the punt against the 49ers, and that he appreciated the competitive fire of his star wideout trying to create a spark.
