Freddie Flintoff says cricket skills saved him as he gives second-by-second account of horror Top Gear crash

Freddie Flintoff has given a second-by-second account of his horror Top Gear crash and explained how his cricketing career saved him.

The former England cricketer suffered life-changing injuries when the three-wheel Morgan Super 3 car he was driving crashed and flipped on the track at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome in Surrey, back in December 2022.

In his new Disney+ Flintoff documentary, released today (25 April), Flintoff recalls being conscious throughout the accident.

He said: “I used to play cricket, I got 0.4 of a second to decide where the ball would go.

“I looked at the ground and knew if I got hit on temple I was dead.”
