Fred the Godson dead at 35 - rapper dies after contracting coronavirus

Rapper Fred the Godson has died aged 35 after contracting coronavirus.

The musician was rushed to a New York hospital with the killer virus two weeks ago.

In his last haunting picture, the musician could be seen strapped to a ventilator in his hospital bed on April 6.

The rapper snapped the picture from hospital and he informed his fans he had got the deadly bug in his final post.

He wrote: “I’m in here with this Covid-19 s***! Please keep me in y’all prayers!!! #GodIsGreat.”

Fred has left behind his heartbroken wife LeeAnn Jemmott.

She had been giving updates on her husband's condition in hospital while he battled the COVID-19 infection.

His wife has yet to break her silence on her husband's death.

His longtime collaborator Jaquae broke the news on Instagram as he shared his sadness after his friend's death.

He wrote: "Sleep in peace my brother..... You’ll never be forgotten. LOVE U MAN. I have so much things to say but I’m lost right now.."

His friend Fat Joe also paid tribute to his rapper pal with a kind message.

He wrote: “My little brother ooooh how sad am i, i prayed and prayed and prayed for you all night long.

“So many dreams so many conversations so many great times we had. I am in shock to say the least i love you soooooooo much little brother it’s been years since i felt this pain.

He continued: “I always wanted the best for you, i played you all my important songs to get your feed back i respect you so much as an artist.

“Why the GOOD die young i was soooooooo proud of you little brother. Maybe now the world will pay attention to your greatness you was always my favorite.” (sic)
