Fred starts, Pogba benched - Manchester United predicted line up vs Arsenal

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could make a host of changes to the side that defeated RB Leipzig for Sunday's clash against Arsenal.

Solskjaer came under fire for Donny van de Beek's lack of minutes since his summer switch from Ajax but the Dutchman started against the Bundesliga side at the tip of the midfield diamond which handed Bruno Fernandes a well-deserved rest.

Marcus Rashford was also rested but came off the bench to net a hat-trick while Anthony Martial also opened his account for the season from the penalty spot.

Unfortunately for Van de Beek, he is likely to be demoted back to the bench against the Gunners with Fernandes returning to the side.

Manchester United writers on Fred's role in the win over RB Leipzig

Pogba started against Leipzig but could also drop out of the starting XI as Solskjaer has favoured the dynamic duo of Fred and Scott McTominay in games against tougher opposition.

With Alex Telles still absent as he self-isolates after testing positive for COVID-19, the defence should remain unchanged.

Mason Greenwood netted his second goal of the season against Leipzig from a central role but should revert to his position on the right wing, with Rashford starting down the middle as Martial serves the final game of his three-match suspension. Juan Mata has started United's last two league games.

Predicted Manchester United XI: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; Fred, McTominay, Fernandes; Mata, Greenwood, Rashford
