Fred sets himself challenge after scoring first Manchester United goal of the season

Fred admits he is looking to add more goals to his game after a rare strike for Manchester United in their comeback win over Tottenham.

The Brazilian midfielder netted a thumping equaliser in North London as he latched onto a spilt shot in the box to rifle Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side level.

Fred's strike marked his first goal of the season, only his fourth in a United shirt, and he revealed he is looking to add more goals to his game in the future.

"Very happy about the goal, my first goal of the season," he told MUTV.

"I know my job is not scoring goals but when I score goals I am feeling very happy. I am going to keep trying to get more this season."

United should have taken the lead before half-time but saw a strike from Edinson Cavani controversially ruled out before Heung-min Son struck to give Tottenham the advantage.

Fred, Cavani and Mason Greenwood struck after the break to turn the game around and the Brazilian midfielder has revealed that the half-time team talk played a key role in their rejuvenated display.

He added: "First-half we did not play well but in half-time we talk a lot in the dressing room. In the second-half we started playing well, playing more of the ball, played side-to-side and we had the space in the game. It was good. We scored the first goal, Edi opened the space for me."
