Fred's son provides heart-warming Manchester United moment with goal celebration

Fred was the man of the hour for Manchester United this afternoon - until his young son took centre stage.

There has been precious little to savour at Old Trafford and beyond this season, certainly other than the 12 goals scored by returning five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.

Benched against Chelsea, the Portugal captain inevitably settled the scores with a midweek double vs Arsenal.

That came in front of watching interim manager, Ralf Rangnick, who finally took charge for the first time after he was granted a work permit in the build up to United meeting Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

Ronaldo was not the hero on this occasion.

Instead, that title belongs to Fred - who has come under heavy pressure this term - after he earned United three Premier League points with a stunning, right-footed winner which flew into the top corner.

Cue the wild celebrations from those inside the stadium and waiting for the action to unfold at home.

And his match-going son certainly enjoyed it!

How impressive was Fred's winner? Have your say in the comments section below.

In a heart-warming moment that was filmed on social media platforms and has already been liked and commented on by thousands, Fred's son was seen jumping up and down and clapping at the would-be winner. He was also seen smiling from ear to ear after watching his father settle the scores.

Having received plenty of criticism, the Brazilian international saw his role tweaked under caretaker Michael Carrick and fared better with contributions against Villarreal, Chelsea and Arsenal.

In terms of goals, Fred now has a rare reward to savour and has drawn plaudits for his all-round display, too.
