Two members of the coaching fraternity spoke out Monday in support of Jason Kidd, with Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg saying Kidd's dismissal by the Bucks made for a "tough day."
"Jason did an excellent job with that group and he's been great to me since I got into this league," Hoiberg said. "I know he'll be back in it when he wants it."
Bucks general manager Jon Horst said the team fired Kidd to get a "fresh approach."
Said Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry: "I really don't comment because I have no idea of the situation. I just know that Jason Kidd is a very good basketball coach and has done a lot of things in this league for a lot of years. I'm disappointed he didn't have an opportunity to finish the year out."
The Bucks were 23-22 heading into Monday night's game against the Suns. Kidd went 139-152 in 3 { seasons in Milwaukee.
