Fred gives hint over Manchester United tactics for crucial PSG Champions League game

Fred says Manchester United need to be flexible when facing PSG in the Champions League.

The Reds host last season's beaten finalists in the Champions League next Wednesday in what could be a crucial group stage fixture.

United famously ran out winners over PSG in France and then recorded an equally-impressive victory over RB Leipzig to leave them in control of group H.

Yet a subsequent loss to Istanbul Basaksehir means United are yet to qualify for the knockout stages, even after beating the Turkish side in the second meeting between the two sides earlier this week.

A draw next week will see United guaranteed to finish above PSG on head-to-head record at least, meaning the pressure is on the French side to attack.

That means Fred says United need to be prepared for whatever the star-studded Ligue 1 champions throw at them.

"Man, we already know them. We know a lot about the players. I’ve played a lot with Neymar,” Fred told Esporte Interativo (via Sport Witness).

"So before the game we try to see a lot of videos of them.

"Whether they come out on the right or the left. If they put more speed or less speed in some moves. We have to be prepared for everything there in the game.

"We know that they can decide the game at any time. So we have to be on all the time."

Fred recently spoke in support of the fight against racism after a black man was murdered in his home country of Brazil.

When asked about the importance footballers can play in society, Fred said it was vital to champion important social causes.

He said: "Sure. I’ve said that a lot. I think we, the players, have a very important social role.

"Today, social networks are everything. So the people who have a lot of followers managed to reach many people around the world. I think we have to have that nice awareness.

"We have to try to make everyone aware of not having any kind of prejudice. So I feel very honoured to be able, at least a little bit, on social media, to talk about it.

"Not only racism but any kind of prejudice, we have to try to ban it and we have to love the others. This is very important.”
