Fred has talked up his partnership with Scott McTominay after establishing himself in the Manchester United team in recent months.
The two midfielders have proved an effective duo while Paul Pogba has been out of the team and particularly impressed during the recent wins over Tottenham and Manchester City.
“It’s really important that we play well together in those midfield positions," Fred said. "It’s really important that we understand each other, understand our positioning and understand our roles when we have possession… it’s a really important partnership and I hope it can continue because it will only be good for Manchester United.”
Fred is expected to be partnered by Pogba at Turf Moor on Saturday night, with McTominay set to miss out through injury.
And the Brazilian is delighted Pogba is fighting fit once more after three months out with a foot problem.
“It’s really important Paul is back, he’s an amazing player," Fred told United's website. "It’s really good for the team to have him back and I believe it’s really important that we have all the players in the squad available.
"We’ve had the return of Paul, Diogo [Dalot], Eric [Bailly] and others… it’s great we have these players back in the squad, given the intense run of fixtures that we have. That brings us together and makes us stronger as a team.”
