Fred admits mixed feelings as he reacts to Manchester United result vs Leicester

Manchester United midfielder Fred has broken his silence on a bittersweet day after he found the back of the net during their draw with Leicester.

The Reds missed the opportunity to cut the gap in the race for the top four to one point ahead of Arsenal's clash against Crystal Palace on Monday. Instead, they move level on points with fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur but couldn't overtake Antonio Conte's side due to Spurs' superior goal difference.

Fred fired home another important strike as he pounced on Bruno Fernandes' effort after Kasper Schmeichel parried it into the Brazilian's path. His leveller came just three minutes after Kelechi Iheanacho headed past David de Gea shortly after the hour mark.

The 29-year-old said on Instagram: "A mix of feelings. It wasn't the result we wanted, but on the other hand, I’m happy for being able to score another goal and helping the team to get this point.

"Let’s keep pushing. Thank God for everything you are doing in my life."

He has found a new lease of life since the introduction of interim manager Ralf Rangnick, establishing himself as a valuable member of their midfield. It was his fourth goal of the season for the Reds and third since the German's arrival.
