Fraudulent Harry Potter trader ordered to pay compensation

A Shirehampton man has been told to pay compensation after admitting fraudulent trading online.

The case of Wayne Darren Jarrett was heard at Bristol Magistrates' Court on February 10.

The 53-year-old, of Station Road, pleaded guilty to five charges contrary to the Fraud Act 2006.

Jarrett admitted that between October 1 and 31, 2017, he made a false representation by advertising a genuine, signed Pink Floyd ticket stub and genuine signed Harry Potter books, on Gumtree, intending to make £225.

He admitted that on February 18, 2018, he made a false representation by advertising a Boss RC30 recording device, on Gumtree, intending to make £55.

Jarrett also admitted that, on February 16, 2018, he made a false representation by advertising a Boss RC30 recording device intending to make £54.50.

In a further charge he admitted that on November 30, 2028, he made a false representation by advertising an iPod intending to make £37.

And in a final charge he pleaded guilty to, on November 17, 2018, advertising a pocket watch, on Gumtree, intending to make £70.

Magistrates ordered him to pay £441.50 compensation and £85 costs, imposing a total penalty of £526.50, to be paid by March 10.
