Fratellis producer hails East Kilbride rockers as ones to watch after working on new single

Rising alternative rockers New Town are gearing up for the release of their latest single recorded by Fratellis producer Stuart McCredie.

Following a run of post-lockdown sell-out live shows, She Goes is set for release next Friday, November 19, on the East Kilbride band's own label New Town Records.

Their third release follows last year's highly acclaimed 'Beautiful Game' and 2019’s ‘Broken Hearts, was recorded at North Lodge in Glasgow by producer Stuart McCredie, who has a track record of working with successful Scottish music acts including The Fratellis and Simple Minds, and features ex-Texas drummer Ross McFarlane on drums.

"She Goes continues the lyrical journey into personal relationships," says writer/guitarist Kieran Smith.

"It continues the story of falling for someone who, you come to realise, doesn't quite feel the same way.”

Commenting on the band's unique sound, McCredie said: "There is an energy and melody in New Town’s music that makes it credible whilst also singable and danceable."

Frontman Andrew Williamson, guitarist Kieran Smith and bassist David Gillies say they are on a mission to re-present guitar music with modernity. Through their music, they hope to put East Kilbride back on the map.

“East Kilbride has a rich musical story - one in which we intend to write the next chapter", added Smith.

The track is available to stream from all major download sites from November 19 and to pre-order from tomorrow (November 11).

Ones to watch, New Town are set to announce more live dates for 2022 later this month.
