Aberdeen will find out the extent of Fraser Hornby's injury on Tuesday - but the initial signs aren't promising for the on loan striker.
The Scotland under-21 cap was sent for a scan on Monday after suffering a pulled thigh muscle and now Derek McInnes is awaiting the results
Hornby suffered the injury taking a shot in the first half of Saturday's win over Kilmarnock before the Reims loanee came off right away in a bid to mitigate the extent of the damage.
Hornby only joined in on deadline day, along with Callum Hendry and Flo Kamberi, on-loan to try and push Aberdeen into the top three.
Meanwhile, Jonny Hayes missed the Killie game with a hamstring issue and he is a major doubt for the weekend trip to take on former club Celtic.
If he doesn't play against his old club then he should be fit for the home game with Hamilton the following week.
The Dons are already without Ryan Hedges and Greg Leigh for the rest of the season as they battle frantically to unseat Hibs in third place.
