Sacked Fraser Aird is in line for a shock move to USA hero Landon Donovan's new club San Diego Loyal SC.
The Canadian international was binned last week by League Two leaders Cove Rangers and later issued an apology after he was pictured making gestures towards Celtic fans in the Rangers fans' section of Parkhead during the Premiership win for the Ibrox side.
Aird stated: "I have a responsibility to carry myself in an appropriate manner. I got caught up in supporting my boyhood club and did something thoughtless. I hope everyone will forgive me for it."
But the 24-year-old former Dundee United and Dunfermline winger has been offered a chance to resurrect his career in the States with the ambitious new Californian club.
San Diego Loyal were founded last year will play their first game as an expansion team in the USL Championship with Donovan, who won 157 caps for the USA, as a owner-manager.
Donovan's new charges have started recruiting players for their first campaign, which will begin in March at University of San Diego’s Torero Stadium.
And Aird has been targeted as one of their new players for their first season.
