Frantic search launched for missing pensioner who vanished from Scots hospital

A frantic search has been launched for a pensioner who vanished from a Scots hospital.

Alexander Middleton, 81, was last seen at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee at around 1.20pm on Friday, April 22.

Police are appealing for information that could help trace the missing OAP.

He’s described as around 5ft 9, of slim build with white short hair.

When last seen he was wearing a maroon jumper, black trousers and black shoes.

Inspector Alan Baird from West Bell Street Police Station said: “We are keen to trace Alexander as soon as possible.

“We ask anyone who thinks they have seen him, or has dash cam footage or CCTV images from the area, to get in touch via 101 quoting reference number 1822 of April 22.”

Police Scotland has since confirmed that Middleton was traced later on Friday.
