Frantic search for West Lothian dad and young son last seen going for haircut

An urgent search has been launched for a missing West Lothian father and his 12-year-old son last seen yesterday afternoon.

Thomas and Alan Caldwell, 48, were last in contact with their family at 1.30pm on Monday after driving to get a haircut at a Turkish barbers in West Calder.

Worried daughter Chloe has posted an appeal for information on Facebook in a bid to trace them.

The pair have been reported missing from Polbeth, West Lothian, and were last seen travelling in a purple/grey Volvo.

Chloe's post said: "Has anyone seen my brother and dad, they have been out of contact since half 1.

"Last seen in my dads purple/grey Volvo. My dad was taking Thomas to get his haircut at the Turkish barbers in West calder, we are hoping that they have just drove somewhere to go a walk and have broken down.

"Can everyone please keep an eye out for them, names Thomas and Alan Caldwell. Car Reg is SL05 LPP."

Police are currently trying to locate the pair and are urging anyone with information on the pair to get in touch.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Officers in West Lothian are carrying out enquiries to trace father and son Alan Caldwell (48) and Thomas Caldwell (12), who have been reported missing from Polbeth.

"They were last seen around 1pm on Monday, 12 April, and are believed to be travelling in a purple Volvo S40 (SL05 LPP).

"Anyone with information should contact the police on 101, quoting incident 3513 of 12 April."
