Fears are growing for the welfare of a Scots OAP who vanished from his home in Cumbernauld without telling anyone where he was going.
Robert Black was last seen leaving Avonhead Road at around 10.20am on Monday, May 17, and was driving his silver Kia Picanto car.
The 83-year-old has failed to make contact since with police officers scouring CCTV in the local area and on nearby motorways in a bid to find him.
The pensioner, who also has links to the Shotts and Grangemouth areas, is described as 6ft with grey hair and was wearing grey plastic glasses.
Investigators believe he may also be wearing a grey jumper and have released the registration number of his car - SE16PUX.
Sergeant Steven Brown, Cumbernauld Police Station, said: "Robert's family are very concerned about him as it is really out of character for him to leave home without letting anyone know where he is going.
"It's thought that he may be driving his Kia Picanto towards the Shotts or Grangemouth areas where he had had previous links but he could have travelled anywhere.
"Officers have been checking CCTV locally and on motorways in an effort to trace him and would appeal to anyone who may have seen Mr Black and or his car today, or who has any information as to where he is, to get in touch as soon as they can."
Information can be passed to officers via 101 quoting reference number 1331 of Monday, 17 May, 2021
