Frantic search for missing West Lothian schoolgirl as concern grows for her wellbeing

Police have launched a frantic search for a missing West Lothian teen who disappeared more than 24 hours ago.

Tya Miller was last seen in the Duddingston Crescent area of Newton at around 11am on Friday morning.

The 14-year-old, who is from the village, has not been seen since vanishing and concerns are now growing.

Police Scotland has now put out an appeal for information on her whereabouts.

She has been described as being 5ft 9ins with long hair which is currently dyed dark brown.

Tya was wearing a cropped white top, grey leggings, a black bomber style jacket and white trainers at the time of her disappearance.

Officers say she has connections in Bathgate and in the Deans and Craighill areas of Livingston .

Inspector Dougie Simpson of Livingston Police Station said: “Concern is growing as Tya is just 14 year-old and has now been missing overnight. I would urge anyone who knows where she is to get in touch.

“I would also ask Tya herself to get in touch with her family or police to let us know that she is safe. Anyone who can help should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 1210 of January 10.”
