Frantic search for missing pensioner in Edinburgh as police launch appeal

A frantic search operation has been launched after a pensioner was reported missing in Edinburgh.

Janet Willetts, 76, was last seen in the Davidson Gardens area of Edinburgh around 9.15pm on Sunday, August 29.

She has been described as 5ft 6ins tall, of a slim build with a tanned complexion and bobbed grey hair, according to Police Scotland.

Janet was wearing a green top, blue jacket, white jeans and red shoes and had a black crossover bag at the time of her disappearance.

Police Scotland are now appealing for the public's help as part of their efforts to trace the 76-year-old amid concerns for her welfare.

Anyone who may have seen Janet since, or who has any information on her whereabouts, is urged to get in touch with them.

This can be done by calling Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0195 of Monday August 30, 2021.
