Edinburgh cops are appealing for information to help trace a missing 16-year-old boy from the capital.

Ashton McLellan was last seen at around 11 am near the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. He is known to travel to the Leith area of Edinburgh.

He is described as white and has short dark hair with a purple or red rinse through it.

When last seen, he was wearing a grey and black tracksuit top, black cargo trousers, white trainers, a black baseball cap and a small grey Nike body bag.

Inspector Greig Paterson, of Howdenhall Response Policing, said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned about Ashton’s whereabouts and are asking for the public's assistance to help trace him safe and well.

“I would ask if anyone has any information that could assist with our search that they get in contact with police.

“If you have noticed anyone matching this description, please come forward and speak to officers.

Police can be contacted on 101 quoting incident number 1224 of Wednesday, 19 May, 2021.”
