Boy, 5, who ran away from school found after frantic police search

Police initiated a frantic search for a severely autistic 5-year-old boy who ran away from his school in north London today.

The boy, named Nicolas, was last seen in Oakleigh Park South, Whetstone, this morning and is identifiable by his green tracksuit.

Met Police detectives said he went missing at around 9am this morning and issued an urgent appeal on social media just minutes later.

But officers later confirmed that the youngster had been "safe and well" .

Barnet MPS wrote on Twitter: "Thank you very much to everyone who shared our High Risk #missingperson tweet for Nicholas this morning. He's been found safe and well."

In the US, the body of a six-year-old girl who went missing after a school drop off was found yesterday.

Authorities confirmed Faye Marie Swetlik was found dead and the body of an adult male has also been found in the neighbourhood during the course of the investigation.

It remains unclear what the link is between the two deaths.

Faye's family alerted authorities after she went missing on Monday afternoon in South Carolina, US.

A Cayce Department of Public Safety spokesperson told a press conference that Faye's body had been found and identified by a coroner.

He said her death was being treated as a homicide but no arrests have been made yet.
