A frantic search has been launched for a frightened dog which bolted from its owners during the fireworks for the Edinburgh Military Tattoo last night.
Cream-coloured cockapoo Annie is missing after she ran away from owners in the Meadows after being spooked by the noise.
She was last seen running up Spottiswoode Street and Fiona Moinuddin has been searching through the night to find her.
Fiona, who is visiting Edinburgh from Cheshire, said her family were distraught.
She said: "My husband was running along the Meadows with her.
"They had set off a few fireworks before the main ones and she just bolted.
"I presume she's just hiding in a garden somewhere. My daughter is so upset, it's awful."
Annie is chipped and if anyone finds her they can call Police Scotland on 101. She may be skittish around people.
