Frankie Edgar feels Conor McGregor is 'trying to clean his image up'

Conor McGregor's UFC rival Frankie Edgar believes the Irishman is "trying to clean his image up".

The Notorious was slightly out of character in the build-up to his recent win over Donald Cerrone as he ditched the trash-talk which is usually so constant prior to his bouts.

Speaking on McGregor's change in personality, Edgar told the Joe Rogan Experience: “How about Conor? He’s kind of made a little 180 type flip on his personality.

"He’s still funny, he’s still mouthing and stuff, but he’s not… He seems like he’s trying to clean his image up a little bit.

“Maybe with Cowboy. Cowboy’s kind of easy to get along with and whatnot. Or maybe it’s just that he’s been dealing with so much."

Host Rogan added that McGregor might have thought he didn't need to get in Cerrone's head prior to the bout.

He said: “I don’t think he felt that he needed psychological warfare with Cowboy.

"I feel like he thought from the beginning that he had a giant advantage.

“But with Khabib, I think he felt like he had to f*** with him. I feel like he felt that he had to get Khabib emotional the same way he got Aldo emotional. But that s*** didn’t work."

On Khabib, Rogan added: “That motherf***er, he’s a vault. You look in his eyes, you see nothing but doom.”
