Frankie Bridge shares brutally honest Insta post on 'saggy skin and stretch marks'

Frankie Bridge has shared a searingly honest Instagram post about her "saggy skin and stretch marks " in a bid to help other women tackle body image issues.

The former pop star, 30, uploaded a picture of herself pregnant along side a snap her looking trim during her time in The Saturdays.

Mum-of-two Frankie explained she was horrified to see some unposed and unretouched pictures of herself in a bikini in Miami - and wanted to address the issue of body image.

In her post on Instagram , she explained: "It’s important to talk about my relationship with my body because hopefully, it will help someone else who’s in a similar situation to how I’ve felt and often feel about my body

"Whilst I am proud of who I am and that my body was able to bring [sons] Carter and Parker into this world… it’s still something I don’t feel confident about.

"I still stress about my body and how my body looks, it’s easy to compare others and it is a massive contributing factor to my mental health.

Frankie Bridge feels guilty for having kids after sister suffered three miscarriages

"When I was pregnant for the first time that was when I realised I had suffered from an eating disorder in the past, having no control over what my body did during pregnancy was hard for me.

"The list is endless; weight loss, weight gain, saggy skin, stretch marks. Mums I know you get me!"

Frankie goes on to insist she's always thinking about how to improve herself, but feels now is the time that women should start learning to accept their bodies flaws and all.

She added: "I still HATE the thought of going on holiday – what to wear, how to wear a bikini.

"Like a lot of women, I’d love to lose some weight, tone up here or there, eat less carbs, not have that glass of alcohol but I am me, the proud mummy to Parker and Carter.

"I know for a fact that no matter how toned, how thin I am that I will never be able to see myself the way that others do. I look back at pictures (pic 2) and long for ‘that’ body, knowing that ‘then’, I wasn’t happy either.

"So, here’s to accepting ourselves for who we are and finding a way to be happy with it."

Frankie is mum to two boys, Parker and Carter, with her husband Wayne Bridge.
