Frankie and Benny's owner changes name to Frankie's

Frankie and Benny's has announced it will drop the second half of its name in attempt to shake up their brand image.

The Restaurant Group, which owns the company said it would be changing the famous restaurants name to Frankie's in an attempt to "evolve the brand" and make it more appealing to a younger audience.

The UK restaurant chain debuted the new name at its refurbished Basildon site.

The group confirmed plans to refurbish and rebrand the Frankie and Benny's restaurants in the UK. It has more than 10 Scottish sites including Glasgow, Edinburgh and Falkirk.

In a statement, managing director Jonathan Knight said, said: "As part of our efforts to evolve the brand and deliver an excellent customer proposition, we are letting Frankie take centre stage and move the brand forward to a bright future.

"We are excited to begin refurbishing other restaurants and can’t wait to welcome back customers at the end of October.”

The new look comes after a year and a half after their owner, the Restaurant Group, was affected by the pandemic, which seen 125 of the companies restaurants close their doors and cutting close to 3,000 jobs.

The restaurant Group also owns other chains such as Wagamamas, and earlier this year they recognised a huge uptake in takeaways , following store closures across the country.
