Frankfurt show Rangers united front as UEFA blasted over Europa League final conditions

Germany's leading football supporters chief has blasted UEFA for conditions facing Rangers and Eintracht Frankfurt fans during the Europa League Final.

Rangers were defeated in a heartbreaking penalty shootout defeat to the Bundesliga side as Aaron Ramsey 's miss proved decisive at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.

However, both sets of fans were left fuming with the lack of water in the Seville heat and UEFA later apologised to Rangers fans.

The Fan Projects Coordination Office, which represents German supporters, have shown a united front in hitting out at the governing body.

Chief executive Michael Gabriel said: "Fans had to go to the toilet to get water.

"That was a disaster and, in my opinion, absolutely irresponsible and it was a huge organisational error.

"The stadium was absolutely not worthy of a final. We've been watching all finals for a few years and this was by far the worst.

"We know, for example, there was absolutely nothing left of water for Rangers fans a full 30 minutes before the game.

"No contacts could be found in the stadium and the police weren't helpful either. The situation was highly dangerous from a health and safety perspective.

"And it was all the more impressive that the fans reacted very responsibly."
