Frank Vogel thinks LeBron and AD will see similar workloads in China

Although Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey’s tweets supporting protestors in Hong Kong and the subsequent response from the NBA and the Chinese government are dominating the headlines, it’s LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers who will actually be playing games in China later this week.

According to Lakers head coach Frank Vogel, LeBron and Anthony Davis are expected to see a similar workload, if not a slightly bigger one, than the one they had in Saturday night’s preseason opener. Each player played 18 minutes and did not play in the 2nd half.

“We’ll see, probably similar to tonight, maybe a little bit more. I’ll meet with those guys and with the medical team, and we’ll make smart decisions on that.”

It was a dominant first performance for the two Lakers stars, with Davis posting 22 points and 10 rebounds while LeBron James had 15 points and eight assists in the start as the team’s point guard.

What may be more interesting to see is what other combinations Vogel goes with around LeBron and Davis. Rajon Rondo saw a lion share of the minutes at guard next to them after Avery Bradley got the start, while Alex Caruso didn’t see any minutes with them.
