Frank Turner's secret set at Glastonbury - review and setlist

Frank Turner has made a surprise appearance at Glastonbury , performing at the BBC Music Introducing stage this afternoon (June 28).

The singer-songwriter packed out the stage as he played an unannounced set and performed songs from his upcoming album.

The stage usually showcases new and unsigned acts but sometimes feature more well-known faces such as Lewis Capaldi, who also performed on the stage earlier today (June 28).

Turner's brief set began with Glory Hallelujah , which got the crowd immediately singing along.

It was then followed by Sister Rosetta , a song from his upcoming album which he described as a "history" album about people "you haven't heard off".

The focus of the song was unsurprisingly Sister Rosetta Tharpe, who has been described as "the Godmother of rock and roll" and influenced artists such as Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry but has been airbrushed from history.

Crowd-pleasing songs such as Be More Kind and Long Live The Queen then ended the show on a high note.

It was fair to say it was a short but satisfactory preview before Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls perform at the Avalon Stage later tonight (June 28).
