A few teams around the NFL had to halt their plans for Sunday as a number of false-positive tests for COVID-19 were reported. The Indianapolis Colts weren’t one of those teams.
In fact, as the Colts enter their second week of training camp, head coach Frank Reich told reporters Sunday that they haven’t had any issues with COVID testing.
“No, we have not had to adapt any schedules,” Reich said. “We haven’t had that happen on a large scale so nothing that we’ve ever had to adapt.”
The NFL has been diligent about testing throughout training camp and it appears to be going as smoothly as possible. But some teams certainly got a scare when they received some false positives.
For instance, the New York Jets received 10 false-positive tests on Sunday as a result of irregularities from the New Jersey lab. Other teams impacted by this include the Steelers, Vikings, Bills and Browns.
The Colts haven’t been impacted much by the COVID-19 pandemic—apart from three players opting out of the season. The staff will be ready to adjust if necessary, but they haven’t had any complications through the first week of padded practice.
