Frank Reich gives statement on Nick Sirianni becoming Eagles HC

The Indianapolis Colts lost one of their big assistant coaches this offseason when offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni was hired to be the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Replacing Doug Pederson, Sirianni gets his first crack at becoming a head coach. As he heads to the NFC East, Colts head coach Frank Reich gave a statement on the situation.

“I spent six years coaching with Nick in two different organizations,” Reich said in his statement. “He has a brilliant mind, he is a strong leader, and he will relate well with the city and its fanbase. Nick comes from a coaching family and this is his passion. He is going to a first-class organization and I’m looking forward to witnessing his success. I’m very appreciative of Nick’s contribution to the Colts over the last three seasons and I wish him and his family the best.”

When Reich took over the head coaching duties for the Colts during the 2018 offseason, his first call was to Sirianni. They developed a relationship during their years of working with the San Diego Chargers.

Now, Sirianni will be running the Eagles while Marcus Brady was officially promoted to the role of offensive coordinator.
