Frank Ragnow happy to be reunited with Arkansas teammate Trey Flowers

They only shared one season as teammates for the Arkansas Razorbacks, but Lions guard Frank Ragnow was duly impressed by Trey Flowers from their college time together.

Ragnow was a freshman on the 2014 Razorback squad where Flowers was a havoc-wreaking senior. Now they are reunited in Detroit and Ragnow could not be happier about it.

“Awesome, awesome,” Ragnow said of Flowers during the team’s offseason workout. “I’m telling you, I can’t speak highly enough about him. I came in as a freshman and he was a senior. I’ve never seen a guy who just doesn’t say much.”

Flowers posted 15.5 TFLs and 6 sacks in his final season as part of his 68 total tackles. He’s carried over the strong all-around play in the NFL, earning him a $90 million free agent contract in Detroit.

For his part, the normally quiet Flowers spoke out praising Ragnow, too.

“He’s a guy that I spent a few years at Arkansas with him,” Flowers said. “Just being able to see how he works, coexist with the same working habits in the same locker room and just understand what type of guy he is. Definitely a great guy, hard worker. He’s come a long way and he’s got even further to gain. He’s a high-caliber guy.”

The Arkansas duo figure to get reacquainted during practices once the veteran portion of minicamp kicks off in a few weeks.
