Former Rangers transfer chief Frank McParland is reportedly in line for a major role in Newcastle United's transfer spending spree.
McParland left Rangers along with Mark Warburton and assistant boss David Weir back in 2017 an acrimonious parting of the ways after a turbulent season.
Since his time at Ibrox, McParland spent a brief stint at Nottingham Forest alongside Warburton, but that spell ended just months into the role.
However, the i paper report that he will be brought back into the game as part of the "first phase of turning the club into a Premier League giant".
The rubber stamped Newcastle United takeover has seen the English Premier League side soar to the top of football's rich list.
A consortium backed by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) has completed its takeover of the St James' Park side to bring Mike Ashley 's 14-year reign to an end.
The £300 million deal has been completed 18 months after the consortium, fronted by financier Amanda Staveley, first had an offer for the club accepted.
Despite the controversy over the deal, supporters remains excited for the start of a new era - and some big transfer business.
McParland is seen as the man to lead "a careful approach to developing a club" given his experience in the English Premier League with the likes of Liverpool, Burnley and Watford.
His time in Govan is remembered mostly for big names such as Joey Barton and Philippe Senderos flopping and NIko Kranjcar and Jordan Rossiter spending most the season out injured.
