Frank Lampard told what to do with Kepa Arrizabalaga amid Chelsea exit talk

Valencia legendary goalkeeper Santiago Canizares has told Chelsea what they should do with the under-fire Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The 25-year-old signed for Chelsea back in 2018 for a then world record fee of £71million for a keeper.

But he has struggled this season, with Frank Lampard even dropping him in February.

Now that the summer transfer window has opened, rumours are rife that the Blues want to move on from the Spaniard.

The likes of Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak and Manchester United's Dean Henderson, who has starred on loan at Sheffield United, have been linked as a result.

But Canizares insists that Chelsea must keep Kepa and even build his confidence rather than sell him this summer.

"Kepa is a great keeper but it appears that he has not won the confidence of Lampard, which is a problem for them both," he told Tribalfootball.com.

"It's difficult to find a better keeper in the market than Kepa and it is also difficult for Kepa to find another club like Chelsea.

"It's a disagreement that I do not understand because I believe that it is really convenient that both the club and the keeper work in the same direction and I hope that the problem will be solved soon.

"Yes, it would be a mistake for Chelsea to sell Kepa this summer. Given the current situation, this is not a summer of big transfers.

"They should be trying to give Kepa more confidence, not trying to sell him."
