Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino believes Frank Lampard must win his next three games to give himself a chance of keeping his job.
Lampard is under extreme pressure following Chelsea's defeat to Leicester City on Tuesday night, which made it just two wins from eight Premier League games.
Calls for the former Blues midfielder sacked are now louder than ever but a decision from Roman Abramovich does not seem to be forthcoming just yet, perhaps opening the door for Lampard to turn things around.
But according to former Chelsea striker Cascarino, Lampard is now on 'eggshells' and nothing less than three straight home wins across an FA Cup clash with Luton and Premier League fixtures with Wolves and Burnley will do.
"It never goes down well when you spend loads and loads of money on signings and they don't work out, or are not playing well," he said on TalkSPORT.
"Upstairs they will go 'well, will we give him more money?' and they get a bit nervous and edgy about doing that.
"He knows the job at Chelsea will be one full of criticism at times, and I say at times because it doesn't take a lot for that owner to say 'that's enough, I'm making a change'.
"But their performances have been really poor. Take the win against Fulham, 1-0 and they struggled for long periods of the game."
Cascarino added: "The highest team they beat in the Premier League this season is seventh. They have not beaten anyone above seventh. The 3-1 win over West Ham at Stamford Bridge is their highest result.
"I watched that game and they did enough to get over the line and not much more.
"Performances plus results will be a huge problem. He has three home games now, one in the cup and then two Premier League games. He has to win them.
"He might make it to the end of the season, but if he is going to, he has to go on a run of winning games now. He can't get knocked out of the cup by Luton or get a horrendous result against Burnley or Wolves.
"He won't survive that. He knows he is walking on eggshells."
Chelsea are now in eighth place and nine points behind new leaders Leicester City with a number of teams in between possessing games in hand.
