Kovacic recalled, Tomori to return, Emerson dropped - Predicted Chelsea line-up vs Tottenham

Chelsea take on Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon as they look to end a poor recent run of results.

Four Premier League defeats in five matches has seen a huge dip in form, but Frank Lampard will likely rely on his midfield trio to get him out of trouble.

Jorginho, N'Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic will likely come into the starting XI to try to win the midfield battle.

The big question will be in defence, however, with Fikayo Tomori back from injury after struggling with a hip injury.

Kurt Zouma has played at the back with Antonio Rudiger in the heart of the defence, but it might be time to change that up.

Tomori and Rudiger appears to be the future of the Blues going forward, and it could be a chance to test that against Spurs.

Another question at the back will be about the full-back positions, with Reece James having impressed but been out of the first team in the last couple of matches.

Lampard could look to bring him back into the team and move Cesar Azpilicueta into the left-back position.

Up top, Christian Pulisic has been in something of a dry spell in terms of goals and assists, however, Lampard will likely keep faith in the American to catch Spurs on the break.

Willian is his trusted winger to add a defensive edge to the forwards, and he is set to keep his place in the team.

Predicted Chelsea team: Kepa; James, Rudiger, Tomori, Azpilicueta; Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic; Willian, Abraham, Pulisic.
