Frank Lampard suffers Chelsea injury blow as Hakim Ziyech hobbles off during Leeds United clash

Chelsea were handed a fresh injury blow after Hakim Ziyech had to come off with an apparent hamstring injury during the match against Leeds United.

The Moroccan started the game at Stamford Bridge on the right wing and was instrumental in Olivier Giroud's equaliser.

He played a nice ball down the right to Reece James, who then whipped in a cross for the World Cup winner to divert home in the 27th minute.

However, instantly the 27-year-old went down and needed attention from the Chelsea physios and required treatment.

Chelsea vs Leeds United preview

Ziyech was unable to continue and was replaced by American Christian Pulisic, who himself has just returned from a hamstring problem.

It has been a difficult start to the season for Ziyech as he had a knee injury in the pre-season friendly at Brighton & Hove Albion.

The winger had started just four league matches before tonight, with another two appearances off the bench.

Frank Lampard will be hoping not to have a key man out for too long, while the Blues boss had a full squad going into the match at Stamford Bridge.
