Frank Lampard says Manchester United are biggest threat to Chelsea top-four bid

Frank Lampard has admitted that Manchester United pose the biggest threat to Chelsea's hopes of finishing in the top-four this season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have been in terrific form since the restart, winning four of their five league matches with an aggregate score of 14-4.

They have picked up their excellent form before the COVID-19 pandemic, that has now seen them extend their unbeaten run to 16 matches in all competitions.

With goals coming all over the pitch, with Mason Greenwood and Bruno Fernandes catching the eye over the past week, Manchester United are in strong contention for a Champions League finish.

They sit two points behind Chelsea in fourth and three apart from Leicester City in third, with Wolves three points behind them.

With four teams closely vying for two Champions League places, Lampard has admitted Manchester United are the biggest competitors to them, citing their excellent form and goal-scoring threat as a major concern.

"Manchester United are the closest threat, they are a very strong team, they've been in great form for a long period of time," Lampard said.

"They've got really got players and you see the momentum they have gained at this part of the season.

"Individuals across their front three are all scoring a lot of goals. They are the biggest threat from behind.

"But as I said before, this is the Premier League, it looks that way today and it's up to us how our team finishes this season game by game."
