Frank Lampard's seven-word answer on Danny Drinkwater's Chelsea future amid Aston Villa interest

Frank Lampard has hinted that Danny Drinkwater could soon head out on loan again, having returned to Chelsea following a loan spell at Burnley.

The 29-year-old has spent the first half of the season on loan at Burnley, but played just 59 minutes in the Premier League, with his time at Turf Moor blighted by injury troules.

Drinkwater was also involved in an incident at a nightclub in September, which left him with an ankle ligament injury, with the former Leicester City midfielder only playing one more game for the Clarets after that.

In total, he made just two appearances for Sean Dyche's men; in an EFL Cup defeat to Sunderland in August and against Manchester City in the Premier League in December.

But now, he has been linked with another loan move, with Aston Villa reportedly interested to sign Drinkwater, after losing John McGinn to an ankle injury, which is set to sideline him for three months.

And Chelsea's head coach has not ruled out the possibility of Drinkwater going out on loan again.

When asked after the Blues' 2-0 win against Nottingham Forest whether Drinkwater would be loaned out again, Lampard said : "We will see. It is a possibility."
