Frank Lampard's Chelsea injury update on N'Golo Kante and Callum Hudson-Odoi for Bayern Munich

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has revealed that a number of players are still out with injury ahead of the Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.

Lampard changed his formation for the win against Tottenham on Saturday, pivoting to a 3-4-3 with a number of players absent, and the manager has confirmed that he does have at least one of his injury absentees back for the first leg of their round of 16 tie against the Bundesliga champions.

Pedro missed the win against Spurs with a small injury, but is back in line to compete for a place in the squad - but fellow attacker Callum Hudson-Odoi has not recovered in time for the match at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, Ruben Loftus-Cheek is fit and in the squad to face the German side - though it is unlikely he will start the match.

The match has also come too soon for Christian Pulisic and star midfielder N'Golo Kante.

"Christian, Callum, N’Golo are out," Lampard told reporters.

"Pedro is back in contention after a small injury at the weekend. Callum isn’t far away but not this game. Ruben is fit, in the squad."

Lampard also revealed that Olivier Giroud had given him pause for thought with an impressive display against Spurs at the weekend.

The striker scored the opener in the 2-0 win, and though Lampard refused to be drawn on whether Giroud would start against Bayern, he admitted that he has been given much to consider.

"Very pleasing [performance from Giroud on Saturday], but it's a tight turnaround after the effort put in," he added.

"Need to assess that but how he played was fantastic. Not just the work he did off the ball and how we defended from the front.

"He is quality and has given me a lot to think of."
