Frank Lampard's Billy Gilmour dilemma and the two Chelsea players who should be worried

Billy Gilmour has done nothing but impress since breaking into Chelsea's first team last season.

In his first FA Cup start he was named man of the match, as he did with in his first ever Premier League start.

In his full debut in the Champions League last night against Krasnodar he was also named man of the match, continuing his amazing run of form.

The 19-year-old picked up a knee injury in the summer, a problem that required surgery and saw him miss four months of action.

With the young Scot back in action, he started with a return for the U23s before coming back into the squad for the Sevilla match.

But last night was his first start back with the senior squad and it was a superb return by the youngster.

There is no doubt that Gilmour is a senior player, a Premier League player, and has the potential to go to the very top in his position.

But for the short term, it could be a dilemma for Frank Lampard as to where the Blues boss is able to fit Gilmour in on a regular basis.

It's pretty apparent that Lampard is moving forward with the 4-3-3 formation, a style of play that gives the Blues the most balance on both sides of the ball.

There are two players who are guaranteed starters, with the performances of N'Golo Kante and Mason Mount being more than enough to make them regulars.

However, there might be two players who could be worried for their regular place, and that is Mateo Kovacic and Kai Havertz.

Both players have been interchanging the right of midfield since the switch to the formation, and it has worked well.

If Gilmour is to get a regular place in the side, that that is likely to be the position that the youngster will fill.

Of course, injuries can always take their toll. Mount is yet to show any signs of breaking down, despite his constant playing time, while Kante appears to have come through last year's injury woes.

But it is a long season with a hectic December coming up, so there will certainly be rotation by the Blues boss.

Havertz and Kovacic could be worried about their regular playing time, as Gilmour certainly has a chance to be a regular for the Blues.
