Frank Lampard reacts to Jurgen Klopp row as Chelsea are handed boost over Kai Havertz transfer

Here is all the latest news from around Stamford Bridge over the past 24 hours.

Chelsea confident of Havertz deal

Chelsea are closing in on a deal to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen, with the Germany international set to follow Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner to Stamford Bridge.

The 21-year-old has been one of the most exciting talents over the course of the past few Bundesliga seasons, and Frank Lampard is looking to rebuild his squad.

The Blues are now the front runners for the transfer, with Real Madrid ruling themselves out for this summer and Bayern Munich splashing the cash on Leroy Sane.

Lampard speaks on Klopp row

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has spoken about his row with Liverpool counterpart Jurgen Klopp during Wednesday's Premier League clash, as he explained it wasn't with the German manager he took issue with.

"I think Liverpool should celebrate as much as they want with the season they've had, they can celebrate like they did after the game, like they can celebrate every goal they score, like they celebrated when they won the league a month ago, and like they are talking they will celebrate one more time with their fans.

"I would have had a beer with Jurgen Klopp after the game and toasted the performance of what they've done this year.

"But there were things on the line I didn't like from their bench, not JK, people behind the bench, which I felt crossed the line, and that's what got me agitated."

Next target after Havertz

Frank Lampard is already planning ahead for his next piece of business after Kai Havertz, as ESPN states he is keen to land a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga.

A wealth of stoppers have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, including Ajax's Andre Onana, Barcelona's Marc Andre Ter Stegen, Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak and Manchester United's Dean Henderson.

However, while Henderson has excelled on loan with Sheffield United, the report suggests a more experienced keeper is being eyed by the Blues boss.
