Frank Lampard provides Tammy Abraham injury update ahead of Chelsea's clash against Leicester

Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard has given a positive injury update on striker Tammy Abraham ahead of the Premier League visit to Leicester City on Saturday lunchtime.

The Blues travel to the King Power Stadium looking to close the gap to the Foxes in third place. Brendan Rodgers' side are eight points ahead of Chelsea going into the match.

The last meeting between the two sides ended in a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge, with Mason Mount giving the Blues an early lead before Wilfred Ndidi struck with a header in the second half.

Since that game both sides have gone onto establish themselves in the top four positions of the league with the aim of staying there until the end of the season.

Alan Smith on what to expect from Chelsea's deadline day

Chelsea go into the game at the King Power Stadium with an injury worry hanging over top goal scorer Tammy Abraham who picked up an ankle injury during the 2-2 draw with Arsenal in their last Premier League outing.

He was not included in the squad for the FA Cup fourth round over Hull City, but speaking in his pre-match press conference, Lampard has provided some good news on the striker's condition, although there is still doubt if he will be able to feature against the Foxes.

"He has trained today and felt okay," he said.

"We need to see if there is a reaction because it is a pain injury. There is a lot of pain and even in training he has pain. So I am going to look at that one overnight and test him in the morning.

"He did get out there today which is a positive in the longer term."
