Here is your Chelsea morning digest for Sunday, July 5.
Pulisic addresses Eden Hazard comparisons
Chelsea ace Christian Pulisic has responded after being compared to former Stamford Bridge favourite Eden Hazard following his recent performances.
Fans have been comparing Pulisic to Hazard during this period and the former Borussia Dortmund man was directly asked about his thoughts on that after the match.
"I feel really confident in my game right now, being on the field and helping my team. I'm just going to continue and keep my confidence high," he told Sky Sports.
"Obviously, he was an incredible player for Chelsea and a world-class player, so I'm not trying to compare myself to him just yet. I'm just trying to be my own player but hopefully the fans like that guy."
Kante injury update
N'Golo Kante will have a scan today on the hamstring injury that saw the Chelsea midfielder substituted towards the end of tonight's 3-0 win against Watford at Stamford Bridge.
The initial diagnosis is the France midfielder's issue is not significant but he is almost certainly out of Tuesday night's trip to Selhurst Park.
"Jorginho is in my plans and with N'Golo Kante, he got a small hamstring that we'll scan tomorrow to see how bad it is," Lampard said.
"We hope it's small, that's what I've been told so far but after the scan tomorrow we'll know. I'm guessing it will be a problem for Palace on Tuesday."
Van Dijk on rejecting Chelsea
Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has discussed his decision to spurn the advances of Chelsea and Manchester City to seal a transfer to Anfield from Southampton.
The Dutchman admitted that both Pep Guardiola and former Blues boss Antonio Conte offered him the chance to wear a blue shirt and explained his decision to choose Liverpool.
“I had the chance to go to Chelsea and Man City. When you compare the clubs, you look at the history, the town, the current squad, their plans for the near future.
“But the most important thing you look at is the manager – and Jurgen Klopp is an important reason why I chose for Liverpool."
