Frank Lampard provides N’Golo Kante and Andreas Christensen injury updates ahead of Norwich

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has confirmed that midfielder N’Golo Kante will not be fit for the Premier League clash against Norwich.

The Blues take on the already-relegated Canaries at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night as they look to capitalise on Leicester’s slip-up against Bournemouth.

That result means that Chelsea will be guaranteed at least fourth position going into the game against Norwich, with Manchester united able to overtake the Blues with a win over Southampton on Monday night.

Lampard will be looking for an improved performance from the weekend’s defeat against Sheffield United where they fell to a 3-0 loss to Chris Wilder’s side.

Chelsea were without influential midfielder N’Golo Kante for the game after he picked up an injury in the second-half of the match against Watford.

Defender Andreas Christensen was also forced off the field against Sheffield United.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Lampard has given the latest on the duo.

“Kante is not fit. Andreas Christensen had to come off at half-time with an injury, but he is back in the squad for the game. The rest is as we were,” he said.

Although there is better news on Kante ahead of the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United.

Yeah, he has a chance for the semi-final,” Lampard said of the midfielder.

A win for Chelsea against Norwich would take them four points clear of Leicester ahead of the Foxes’ Premier League game against Sheffield United on Thursday.
