It has been a superb start to the season for Mason Mount at Chelsea.
The 20-year-old has impressed during Frank Lampard's time in charge as the Blues' head coach, having worked with the Chelsea legend at Derby County while on loan with the Championship side last season.
But Mount has made the step up to the Premier League this season, scoring three goals in nine appearances in all competitions for the Blues.
His first Premier League goal came on his Stamford Bridge debut against Leicester City, while he has gone on to score in victories at Norwich City and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
His form has earned him rave reviews from pundits and fans alike, while Lampard has also heaped praise on the midfielder.
However, Lampard has admitted that even he has been surprised at how well Mount has done in the Premier League, having not featured in the top flight before this season.
"He has an all-round game and that quality," Lampard said, speaking to BBC programme Match of the Day after Chelsea's 2-0 win against Brighton & Hove Albion at Stamford Bridge yesterday (Saturday).
"I probably didn't expect this type of level already at Chelsea. I thought it would take him a bit of time. But he's been straight in and is improving daily."
Mount also got plenty of praise from Arsenal legend Ian Wright on the BBC programme, with the former England striker describing him as someone who "makes a difference" for Chelsea.
